Information for Dr. Frank Tracz just received.

Great news!

----------------------------------------------------------

Dear Band,
I have just returned from a long and very incredible meeting with
the following in attendance: Dr. Krause (AD), Dr. Bosco, SGA officers,
Amy Rienz (Alumni Assoc Pres), Foundation representative Mike Smith,
Dr. Mortenson (Dept of Music Chai), Dr. Pursell, and others.
The bottom line is that the present legislation to decrease and
eliminate funding is dead and will be replaced by a bill that continues
our budget at present level while the Ath Dept, Alumni assoc and
Foundation develop methods to replace the SGA funds and even increase
our budget within the next few years. There is also a plan to cover
the costs of new uniforms.
There are many details, etc. that need to be worked out but I cannot
even begin to tell you what a monumental break through this has been.
This has the potential to be the best funding and support that this
band has ever received and will serve as an example for all University
bands to emulate. SGA did us a huge favor by bringing this to
everyone's attention.
I could not be happier.
I will give more specifics when I see you this afternoon.
I want you to know that none of this would have been possible without
the effort YOU made to get the word out. The incredibly overwhelming
response to this from students, faculty, alumni, friends, etc. is far
beyond expectation and imagination.
Pass the word: THE BAND IS BACK! We will be better than ever - in
all ways........

DT

If a university can't keep its core functioning of academic classes (ie music) how is it going to support extras like football.
